Thank you Jamie, we will discuss them among mvtx experts and try to come up with solutions by next Monday if not earlier.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [[Sphenix-maps-l] ] MVTX issues / requests from today's Operations Board meeting

Hello MVTX folks,

Following up on the Operations Board meeting today, I have two specific requests:

1)   The question has been raised about potentially changing the strobe length from 10 to 20 microseconds because at the beginning of the store the data rate exceeds the DMA transfer rate for rcdaq.      One solution in the works is the data compression, but that is not ready yet.    From Jo's comment, my understanding is that a hit persists for 7 microseconds, and so a single hit often shows up in two different 10 microsecond strobes anyway.    Can the MVTX software group coordinate to demonstrate good tracking performance with  MVTX & INTT only for 10 and 20 microsecond strobes?    I would like to see such a plot before we many any decision on this change.

2)   The MVTX Online Monitor remains an outstanding issue and a source of inefficiency.    Since Jakub is on vacation and not at BNL for two weeks, we would like an additional contact person to meet with myself and Virginia on Monday.    Some issues may also be on the decoder side and needs coordination by someone here in 1008 and not remote.     This has risen in priority as concerns have not been addressed over the past 1-2 weeks.

Sincerely,

Jamie
