Hi Ming, by sheer coincidence we are currently taking 4 hours of data with the magnet turned off – straight tracks for calibration! This has occurred because of a cryo trip on the sPHENIX magnet this morning. At the end of my shift we should switch back to standard operation  -

Walt,

Let’s see what we get from this year’s AuAu run later, w/ and w/o absorbers (also possible impacts on TPC hits), and fixing the the tiled beampipe and MVTX or not.

I think the fact that beampipe and MVTX are NOT parallel to the beam have helped us a bit  this year in p+p run à possibly much less straight tracks go through many pixels.

Hi Ming, are not “all bets off” in terms of detector improvements for run 25, until we understand the background issues in the Au-Au run – with and without the calorimeters?
