Hi all,

A quick summary of things discussed at this morning’s MVTX presentation and some additional afterward thoughts:

  1. Fast offline MVTX+INTT tracklets + TPC analysis, there are 4 runs processed with the latest libs (MVTX updated) and available for analysis:
  1. MVTX hit efficiency with Si-tracklets
  2. Hit eff. vs pT ( if TPC track availabe)
  3. Check p,K,pi dE/dx at low pT, below ~0.8GeV, and check MVTX hit efficiency from Run24 data
  4. Also, check MVTX only runs with different trigger latencies (3.2 ~ 6.6us), to see if meaningful MVTX-only  tracklets can be reconstructed for efficiency study? Maybe difficult to get information about K/p, due to low fraction of them and lack of pID
  5. Can we get preliminary out in ~2 weeks?
Can we use cosmic rays to check stretching MVTX analogy signal shape to extend “t2” to go beyond ~4us? Can also try to inject laser pulse, dQ >> 1xMIP, to check and measure the detector response, adjust V_clip to increase “t2” above 3.7us  for high Q signal?        Like to continue exploring the feasibility to get a faster trigger from MBD/ZDC LL1 for MVTX readout, aiming for ~<3us (instead of 3.7us of current GL1)Make a to-do list for MVTX startup activities with beam, first 1~2 weeks
  1. Things to check, tools needed
Make a to-do list for MVTX startup without beam, with cosmic rays etc.
  1. Any other subsystems needed? INTT/TPC etc.
  2. Online/Offline Tools
With triggered mode for AuAu, can we improve OM input, only selecting triggered events (discarding no collision events)?
  1. Do we really need to select triggered events only? Okey to simply discard non-collision data? Matter of OM efficiency
Onsite expert coverage, particularly at the beginning of run! Anything else? Please add them here.

We can have more discussions at next Monday’s MVTX meeting.

Cheers,

Ming

Dear all,

We are schedule to present MVTX status in today’s (2/13) readiness review, ~10:45AM/BNL.

https://indico.bnl.gov/event/26502/

I have posted a draft ppt there, and will continue editing the slides in the morning.

Let me know if I missed anything important. Hope many of you can dial in.
