Dear all,

As many of you are aware of, the RHIC BLUE ring fix might take quite some time ~1 month based on Wolfram’s email from this morning:

“While we narrow the location range of the short, we have determined that it is in a superconducting arc section.

A repair will require a warm-up of at least a section of the Blue ring, which we are preparing for now.

The warm-up, repair and cool-down will be about one month if the short can be quickly located and repaired.

A dipole replacement may take longer. “

Right now , we have an army of MVTX experts at BNL since last week, thank you all!

Please also consider your availability and plan your travel accordingly to help MVTX operation once beams are available, we will discuss this in today’s meeting.
