Hi, Everyone

 

As announced below, Chris has completed the inclusive p+p jet production for the HF jet topical group. And since it is large sample of MB jetty events, it may also be useful for the jet topical group when looking for rarer fragmentation and comparing algorithms.

 

Details below. Suggestions welcomed.

 

·       Setup: MB p+p jetty events in full detector

o   Production macros tuning when compared with the default macro: https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/macros/compare/master...blackcathj:HF-production-bjet-pp200?expand=1

o   Basically, it perform full Geant4 simulation for 20 GeV Pythia 8 jets. It uses CTEQ6L PDF with pTHat = 10 GeV. Then a R=0.4 truth jet trigger with minimal pT of 20 GeV was required.

·       Output:

o   The output files (1000 events each) containing G4Hits is under /sphenix/data/data02/HF-production-bjet-pp200/pythia8

o   Total event number is 250k

o   For standard Geant4 production like this one, one can use the default macro to read back and reconstruct these output files with flag
const bool readhits = true;

the MB pp jetty event production is finishing up (probably done by the time you read this). The output files (1000 events each) containing G4Hits is under

/sphenix/data/data02/HF-production-bjet-pp200/pythia8

and yes I just noticed I ran for 250k events.

Following our discussion on Friday, we are writing to request the first set of production for the HF topical group. These set of study is aimed to refresh our simulation with aim of full MAPS proposal later this year.

 

At the moment, we have two requests with a third one maybe coming after the inner HCal rushes:

·       Single particle embedded in MB HIJING in tracker only, which is used to extract the DCA shape for fast simulation.

o   Macros modifications: https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/macros/compare/master...blackcathj:HF-production-piKp-AuAu200?expand=1

o   It perform 30 pi/K/p of both charges embedded into MB HIJING simulations.

o   The even number request is 250k

o   The primary output file is eval file G4sPHENIX.root_g4svtx_eval.root, which only analyzed the embedded tracks. Saving the DST file will be very useful too, which occupies about 100 TB space.

·       MB p+p jetty events in full detector, which is used to update b-jet tagging

o   Macros modifications: https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/macros/compare/master...blackcathj:HF-production-bjet-pp200?expand=1

o   It perform full Geant4 simulation for 20 GeV Pythia 8 jets, which use about 7GB memory

o   The even number request is 200k

o   The primary output file is DST file, for next stage of read_hits analysis.
