Call for help from HF TG on helping out tracking development:

  • Further develop tracking QA, in particular with the observables and analysis used in HF analysis
  • Develop the handling of pp pile up in tracking and vertexing

Secondary vertex analysis - Sanghoon Lim

From July check:

Sanghoon: the track distance is calculated towards the truth vertex

Joe: tracking performance will be different after July

From Sept check:

Tony: track selection needs to be careful: before this weekend, there is a large population of duplicated tracks that is now rejected with a new module. Usually, run with gtrack, ie. start analysis with truth track, when calculating efficiency.

Joe: now also reconstructing displaced tracks.

Joe: displaced track finding in TPC is well done. MVTX displaced track can find to up to the first layer. Significant improvement in displaced track finding right now.

Tony/Joe: if the track base position is wrong, it may miss initial MVTX hits based on the construction of ACTS Kalman fitter

Discussion: it will be very helpful to integrate this analysis into continuous integration checks for tracking team

Primary vertex reconstruction - Joe Osborn

Pythia configuration for the vertexing resolution comparison plot:

Default Pythia: qHat 10 GeV

MB Pythia, ie. with a low qHat cut

c-cbar, also produced low pT and biased towards longer HF decays

PCA resolution with vertex distribution:

Tony: this is an artifact as tracking is fine. PCA resolution need to be recalculated against the vertex plane rather than 0,0,0

Tony: trigger efficiency, recording
