Introduction & Upcoming plans
We now have the inclusive jet sample as well (1M events).
It is time to resume the b-tag studies.
We would like to call for volunteers to work on associating
G4 particles to reconstructed tracks. Tasks are:
1) Store relevant information
2) Develop an algorithm to do the matching
If you are interested in the task(s), please contact us.
Next meeting will be in 2 weeks as usual (Mar 23). We will
skip the meeting on Apr 6 due to QM22 and resume on
Apr 20.
MDC2 status - Cameron Dean
Added 4 minIO interfaces. Hopefully this fixes the crash issue.
DST_TRUTH_G4HITS is eating too much space and was deleted.
We will discuss which truth info to keep at the next simulation
meeting on Mar 15.
p.3
Hideki: What does Jet R=4 mean here? I guess 4 means 0.4.
Cameron: This means that "R=0.4 jet pt>30 GeV" was used for
the event triggering.
Joseph: Could you post these tables on MatterMost?
Cameron: Will do. (Now posted on the MDC2 channel)
p.4
Tony: Which event filter was used?
Cameron: Filtered for ccbar.
Joe: hardQCD or Minbias?
Cameron: hardQCD
Tony: OK, just triggered events. Pileup considered?
Cameron: Right
Tony: ~150 tracks look insane?
Cameron: Largely from pileup.
Tony: Then, mostly TPC tracks pointing randomly in z. How about
adding the MVTX cut?
Cameron: Will do, but I have to rerun the jobs for that.
Jin: Does the truth association still need work?
Cameron: Yes, I got nowhere for that.
==> Please look at the introduction part of the minutes calling for
the volunteers
Marzia: How about doing the association in angle and momentum?
Tony: Possible but not trivial
EvtGen updates (verbal) -- Zhaozhong Shi
Z.Z.: EvtGen compiled ok, but crashed in Fun4All. EvtGen is implemented
in Pythia8.
Jin: Why did you implement in Pythia8? Association to G4 is the goal.
Z.Z.: I didn't know how to run it directly.
Cameron: That was my suggestion. Doesn't G4 use Pythia6 decayer?
Jin: This is sPHENIX's own implementation. We should just replace
Pythia6 decayer in the sPHENIX code to EvtGen.
