BUP2022 preparation - Dennis Summary: BUP is due in about three weeks. Same cryo-week guideline. New plots from TGs?
Upsilon 3S: Tony: 3S significance at CMS may be enhanced by b-quark production rate and regeneration rate. Dennis: Given the surprising higher yield, how about assuming the same 3S/2S ratio and giving an sPHENIX projection based on that assumption. Tony: Sasha L. could work on it. But important to make the result defendable in front of PAC Dennis: note also the time limit for BUP delivery Marzia/Sasha: Concerning small yield and lower resolution compared to CMS. Depending on current tracking performance. Jin: angular distribution useful to differentiate DY from Upsilon decay? Tony: very low stat., 10 counts over 20-30 background. Dennis: pT integrated measurement would be valuable too.
D_s/D+ ratio: Cameron: D_s/D+ ratio, which will be a useful addition to the Lc/D0 Jin: concerning setting up the machinery for AuAu projection may take a longer time scale than the BUP deadlines, which probably need to revive and update the 2017 fast sim machinery with current tracking performance. It would be useful to revive and update the fast-sim machinery regardless of this BUP though.
Update projection with MDC1/2 studies Joe: update with BUP projection with MDC1/2 studies Jin: we have not yet handled the AuAu embedding study though, which would be needed
HF jet z_g Jin: we have the LANL model for the charm/bottom jet z_g, which can be combined with the jet yield to produce a BUP fig 7.2 type of stat. projection Dennis: soft drop available in sPHENIX FastJet too.
FastML Trigger Ming: FastML project is not yet mature enough for PAC projections Jin: Besides BUP, PAC presentations also include a preparation and computing update talk, which may suitable for an update from FastML.
MDC2 status and look into MDC2 data - Cameron and Thomas Summary: Run4 sample available. Debugging loss of D0 in reconstruction
Cameron: Most samples in Run4 finished. Run5 coming. The bottom will not run and will require a special request.
Tony: do we need to reconstruct the p+p pile up in MDC2, which currently requires truth seeding Jin: no for TG studies (pile-up events are recycled), but useful exercise for tracking development for Run24 data Joe/Cameron: truth seeding is too optimistic
Thomas/Cameron: Efficiency loss was observed in the current D0->Kpi analysis Jin/Cameron: it will be useful to bring out the chain to produce Generation-> reco matching for acceptance*efficiency calculation Tony: try direct decay studies Cameron: partly addressed in the next talk
Cameron: further tested with a D0 simulation without pile up Jin: What is the pT spectrum for this sample Cameron: Pythia generated D0 down to low pT Jin: the secondary vertex cut (flight distance, IP Chi2) would reduce prompt D0 efficiency. Consider not to apply it in the initial selection but apply it later during the analysis phase. Tony: even for the T=0 crossing, we have non-zero fake TPC-silicon track matches, even after the use of INTT pile-up rejection
EvtGen decayer update - Zhaozhong Shi Summary: continue to implement EvtGen as Geant4 decayer following the example of the Pythia6 G4 decayer
Zhaozhong: figured out the problem reported in the last TG meeting regarding the configuration of the G4 decayer interface Zhaozhong: mysterial pi0 decay product in the test sample, and has to exclude mother in the EvtGen decay result array Jin: Suggest print out the content of one event to investigate sources of pi0; suggest following example code in EvtGen to use the decay product array.
Wei: why use pythia6? Jin: pythia6 is included in Geant4 as an example of the use of external decayers. We use this example to implement the EvtGen interface.
