Hi All,
Here are my notes from the meeting this afternoon.
Tony
HF/Q topical group meeting January 27, 2023:
-------------------------------------------------------------
Convener comments:
-----------------------------
Jin: The PR on the Evtgen decayer has been merged.
It is now the default decayer. Many thanks to Zhaozong for the great effort.
D0 Jet Update: Xuan Li
------------------------------
Slide 7: Joe: What is a jet? How many constituents?
Xuan: D0 + at least one other particle.
Joe: Careful of claiming a jet at 2 GeV/C. Xuan: 2 GeV/c is for studies.
Would probably start physics at 5-7 GeV/c.
Xin: What is truth? Generator level, or truth for reconstructed particles?
Truth for reconstructed particles.
What effect does tracking efficiency have on momentum scale?
Xuan: Have to study effect of tracking efficiency. Also, no distortions yet.
Cameron: You can get down to 5-7 GeV/c in pp, but what about AuAu?
Xuan: Under study. It would be helpful to have D0 signals in Hijing events.
Cameron: We have 22M minbias Hijing events.
Xuan: After filtering for D0's, will not have enough events from that.
Jin: Remember D0 will scale in AuAu with Ncoll. But may have to do embedding.
Jin: Suggest to double check with inclusive jets what the resolution looks like as a sanity check.
Jakub: From a cc_bar MC production of 1M events, got 50,000 truth jets and 300 reco jets, ~ 1.5%.
Cameron: Inclusive D0 efficiency in pp was 13.4%, with just baseline cuts.
Difference from Jakub's number of 1.5% should be understood.
Commissioning discussion: Led by Cameron
----------------------------------------------------------
For commissioning, we expect to look at:
Ks, Lambda, D0, Y (&jets?).
The analysis note released in the last few weeks is for pp events.
We need to start looking at AuAu events.
Zhaozhong: Worked in Ks analysis in AuAu for STAR.
Zhaozhong will show some slides on cuts at the meeting in 2 weeks.
Joe: Maybe make a module that filter resonance events in a selected mass region?
Cameron: Experience is that generic cuts give too many candidates.
Thomas Marshal worked in a filter module in the January Workfest.
Marzia: Need CEMC calibration for electrons.
Marzia: Can we get realistically distorted, misaligned data to try analysis on?
Tony: Noy yet. The tracking group hopes to have machinery in place for that by the March workfest.
CEMC de-calibration code would be a good contribution from others.
Wei: What about alignment?
Tony: The machinery for implementing alignment constants is in place.
We would like to collect all of the survey alignment data in a format that it can be read into the tracking reconstruction chain. It would be great if subsystems can assign someone as point person for this.
INTT: Joseph B. is working on this and is in contact with tracking experts.
MVTX: Cameron: chip positions in staves have been surveyed. Will bring it up in Monday meeting.
TPC: We need a point person.
