Dear all,

I would like to present an sPHENIX poster in Quark Matter 2023. Below is my abstract for poster presentation at Quark Matter 2023. Any comment or suggestion will be welcome. Thank you very much!

Title: Inclusive b-hadron v2 and RAA with sPHENIX

Abstract: Beauty quark is considered as a golden probe to study the properties of quark-gluon plasma thanks to its large mass and relatively long thermal relaxation time. Traditional experimental observables such as elliptic flow v2 and nuclear modification factor RAA of fully reconstructed beauty hadrons have been measured at the LHC. Moreover, indirect measurements on non-prompt J/ψ and D mesons and heavy flavor decayed leptons have been carried out extensively. The sPHENIX experiment at RHIC is a state-of-the-art heavy flavor and jet detector first taking Au + Au data in 2023. The MVTX detector is a silicon pixel detector with very fine pitches. Its excellent position resolution and capability of operating in continuous streaming readout mode allow precise vertex determination and large data acquisition, particularly crucial for b-hadron measurements. In this poster, we will report the tracking and vertexing performance with the first Au + Au data and the comparison with simulation results. In addition, we will show the event plane studies with the sEPD detector. The reconstruction of heavy flavor hadrons with sPHENIX simulation will also be presented. Finally, we will provide the projection of inclusive b-hadron v2 and RAA and discuss the estimated constraints on theoretical models.

Sincerely,

Zhaozhong Shi
