Hi all,

Here are the minutes of today’s meeting:

Introduction – Conveners

Xuan – The jet definition changed recently from work by the jet TG. Jakub has done lots of work studying the new framework. We need to look closely for changes impacting the HF jet analyses. Maybe the KFParticle and jet linking doesn’t work.
Cameron – Is this something I should look into or is this local to your framework?

Xuan – Thanks for offering help. We’ll look more into it first. The jets are now stored as a container instead of a map since maybe production round 11? We may need a new production in one or two weeks.

Cameron – The hot/dead channel maps for the silicon detectors are being added to the data production by putting the maps in the conditions database. There’s currently no method to add the hot and dead maps to the simulations. Should this task be assigned in this TG or should it be handled within the tracking group.
Joe and Tony – This is a well-defined, standalone task that can be handled in a TG. There’s lots of support and expertise available.
Marzia – Pedro in my group could look at this with some help from the MVTX group. They’re on vacation until the end of next week.

Cameron – OK, the MVTX method was pushed to core software last night for the real data and the INTT are following ours and the TPOTs example so if we get something set up for the MVTX, it shouldn’t be hard to adapt it for the INTT.

Lambda_c update – Charles

Slide 2

Cameron – The significance used to make these plots is effectively the signal over background?
Charles – Yes

Cameron – How is the background then calculated?

Charles – It’s taken from an old simulation from 2022 (so it’s not from the latest round of productions)

Slide 4

Cameron – The cross and peak for reco eta = 0 is due to the default value for these variables being set to 0. If the particle isn’t reconstructed then this value doesn’t update.

Joe – Set it to std::numerical_limits<float>::quiet_NaN();

Xuan – Can you explain how you will select the candidates and separate the pions from the protons?
Charles – We’ll use dE/dx in the TPC to assign a proton probability.
