Hi all,

A reminder of the PCM at 12pm BNL time, in about two and a half hours.

As an update to the agenda, we will also consider for approval a few performance plots related to the event plane determination with the MBD by Ejiro Umaka.

Hi all,

We will have our usual bi-weekly Physics Coordination Meeting, this Friday, February 9th, at 12pm BNL time. (Note the earlier time than some previous PCMs.)

The indico agenda is here: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/22260/

We will discuss strategy towards physics results on the timescale of summer 2024 and hear about the status of MBD and centrality calibrations. We will also have an approval for Performance plots with data from Ben Kimelman, with a link to Ben’s supporting note in Invenio posted on the agenda page.

See you on Friday,

Dennis, for Anne and Joe

( * ) In my slides at last week’s General Meeting, I loosely referred to the upcoming request by Ben as “Preliminary data”. In our sPHENIX publication terminology, these will actually be “Performance” plots which, although labelled “Preliminary” on the plot, are intended to demonstrate the performance of the detector and not to convey a physics message. Apologies for my ambiguous terminology!
