Hi All,

Some of us have been meeting on Thursday morning to discuss the workflow for tracking related data production. We have made a lot of progress toward lining out the detailed workflow for reconstructing beam related data - so far with the emphasis on handling TPC distortions in the reconstruction.

Joe Osborn and I were talking today, and we would like to propose expanding the Thursday morning session to include work on developing all of the tools for understanding the data we are now beginning to take. This is now urgent. Since this task crosses subsystem boundaries, we need to bring together subsystem and offline people who have previously not worked closely together.

The idea is to bring together experts and newbies to work on, for example:
  • Implementing alignment workflows for the silicon detectors
  • Implementing an iterative alignment and distortion correction procedure for the TPC data
  • Finish integrating TPC distortion corrections into the reconstruction
  • Finalize all tracking production macros
  • Implement QA modules for all stages of tracking reconstruction
  • Update reconstruction modules to access appropriate trigger information

The proposal is to have an open zoom room from 9 am to 1 pm Thursday, so people can come and go as they are available. Since these are intended to be working sessions, there will be breakout rooms for groups to huddle and work together.

We would like to begin on this coming Thursday, April 18.

Joe and Tony
