Announcement

  • user disk is full, but feel free to use the TG disk for Run24 analysis: /sphenix/tg/tg01/hf , with a subfolder of your user name
  • New MatterMost channel for di-electron analysis: https://chat.sdcc.bnl.gov/sphenix/channels/hf-dielectron

Track-calo in pp update: Antonio da Silva

Slide 2:
Tony/Aontnoio: the dR matching here is based on sqrt(dphi^2 + deta^2)
Ejiro/Antonio: The first silicon vertex is used to calculate the eta of clusters for matching criteria

Slides 4-5:
Blair: please add 1D projections.

Jin/Tony/Blair: please use a tighter matching window. improved matching probably allows us to use tighter matching criteria to beat down combinatorial pairs

Tony: what is phi?
Antonio: track state in front of EMCal
Tony: 0.2mrad and 20cm is too lose

Ejiro/Antonio: Cluster position determination needs to be updated with thresholding and treatment of negative energy towers

Slide 6

Jin: please also add track projection z

Tony: tracking in under work, not surprising to have phi dependence

slide 9:

Tony: tracking has a low efficiency around the central membrane, which could lead to the dip at z~0

Jin: interestingly, there is track-EMcal matching and EMCal-HCal matching but missing the correlation peak in the track-HCal matching
Antonio: the cluster sample is different for track-matched data.

Jin: the excess of the positive particle was identified to be secondary protons (in tracking meetings). So for the secondary particle, there is no clear correlation of the (phi of track vertex momentum) to (phi of the track projection)

Slide 11:

Ejiro/Antonio: vertical bands are probably from HCal eta/z binning.

di-electrons from photon conversion in Run24: Xudong Yu

Ejiro: the mismatching in phi is intriguing
Tony/Xudong: there is a significant difference in positive and negative track in the phi matching. Still under investigation.

Tony: The best matching radius for the EMCal shower needs to be studied.
Blair: Single hadron study in the past, which points to the middle of EMCal.
Antonion: past topo cluster simulation studies show the best matching using the front face.

Andrew: input file?
Tony: silicon matching reduces stat.
Jin: encourage to exchange data, code, and experience on https://chat.sdcc.bnl.gov/sphenix/channels/hf-dielectron so everyone in the TGs can reproduce and build on this work.
