Dear all,
The sPHENIX detector is designed to study fundamental properties of the quark-gluon plasma created in heavy ion collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The sPHENIX Event Plane Detector (sEPD) is constructed both in the forward and backward rapidity region with the coverage of 2.1<|eta|<4.9. The essential role of the sEPD is to provide precision resolution of the event plane as well as the centrality calibration in Au+Au collisions. This poster will discuss the first performance results of the sEPD, covering cosmic tests of the sectors and calibration results of the first sPHENIX run. Also, the results will be discussed in terms of physics measurements that can be accessed based on the current achievements.
