Hi All,

Here are the minutes from yesterday’s meeting.  Feel free to send comments, corrections, etc.  Here’s another that next week, one time only, we meet on Tuesday instead of Monday.  There will be one last reminder when I make the meeting announcement.

Regards,

Ron

PROJECT STATUS

All fiber optics have been pulled.  The south side went in last Tuesday, and the north side went in last Friday morning.  As discussed previous there was one fiber bundle with reversed connector, that was repaired prior to installation, so all connectors are in the correct orientation.  sPHENIX operations will start with the magnet off and the magnet door open, later the doors will be closed and the magnet turned on, and then after the magnet will be ramped down and the doors re-opened so that various repairs can be made - once those repairs are made, the sEPD will be installed.

MECHANICAL INTEGRATION

Six supersectors are fully assembled, light tested, and in the back rack in 1008.  These are the ones that will be used for the north side.  There are three empty strong back petals in 510 and three more in 1008 that will be brought back to 510 so they can be assembled.  The supersectors in 1008 should be fit tested in situ - this either already happened (Tuesday morning) or will be postponed until next week because the magnet bore will be closed up for a while.

ELECTRONIC INTEGRATION

The new Xometry delivery date for the SiPM boxes is May 8.  Once the boxes are fully assembled, it could be useful to test them but it’s unclear how much time this adds to the schedule and whether it’s feasible.  The limiting factor is the SiPM boards - we know the PCB won’t arrive until late May, and it will take a week or two after that for them to be assembled and shipped to the lab.  The current optimistic time frame is mid-June, which is also around the time sPHENIX might be ready for us to be installed.  We discussed Tuesday June 20 as a possible goal date (note that Monday June 19 is a federal holiday, meaning engineers and techs may not be available on that day).

SOFTWARE

Software discuss postponed to next week.
