Hi folks,

the 64 bit keys were only partially implemented - this didn't affect the simulation results but this would have prevented us from running hijing through the spacal.

I put the distinction between px/py/pz for the entry and exit hit in a given volume back in which is needed for tracking evaluation/development. For some reason (cut and paste I assume) we saved those in the calorimeters as well which doesn't make a lot of sense (momentum at the entry and exit of a track in spacal fiber or a tilted plate) and just blows up the data volume by quite a bit. I left this in the cylinder detector where this has some meaning.

This change in the key breaks backward compatibility and you won't be able to read old files (e.g. the ones we created at SUNY last week) with our daily default builds.

In PHENIX we have something called ana build which is a weekly snapshot of our software and I created one for sPHENIX which is able to read those files. If you want to read an old file you can switch to this build by sourcing our setup script with ana as argument:

source /opt/sphenix/core/bin/sphenix_setup.csh ana -n

Have a good weekend
Chris
