oops, have a look at

/sphenix/sim/sim01/production/2016-02-01/spacal1d/fieldmap/
/sphenix/sim/sim01/production/2016-02-01/spacal2d/fieldmap/

tomorrow late afternoon

Hi, Chris,

Thank you for producing this new batch of simulation, and reorganizing the
macro and output folder. I am eager to dig through them to try out the new QA
modules. However, I bump into a problem that the absorber nodes was not saved.

For these 1k single particle simulations, shall we save the absorber hits?
Complete G4 info in these small sample of data allow us to quantify detailed
Geant4 performance. Larger specific samples can live without the absorber
hits (or save towers only).

Cheers

Hi folks,

our old simulations are not readable with the current software. In order to
have something to play with I ran 1000 particles of the usual species and eta
ranges with our current simulations for the 1d and 2d spacal.
The output is on our brand new sphenix gpfs filesystem under:

/sphenix/sim/sim01/production/2016-01-27/spacal1d/fieldmap/
/sphenix/sim/sim01/production/2016-01-27/spacal2d/fieldmap/

In the future (at least until we have something like a file catalog/lookup for
simulations), you will find our simulation productions under
/sphenix/sim/sim01/production, then the simulation purpose (or date if it's
just a refresh to see the new stuff), then hopefully self explanatory
subdirectories what's really in there.

I also restructured the macros a bit under the hood. The G4Setup_sPHENIX.C
(and _fsPHENIX.C) should only contain G4 simulation related setups needed
to create the G4Hits. This keeps the number of macros one needs to copy for
those simulation runs small and enables me to use the G4Setup_sPHENIX.C
macro from the git repository (the Fun4All macro has to change to digest
parameters passed down). Things which are only used during the analysis
stage of the G4Hits (like jets, global reco, bbc) were moved into the
Fun4All_G4_(f)sPHENIX.C macros and macros are only loaded if the use flag
is true. It doesn't make a difference for normal use but it declutters the
simulation running.

Chris
