Hello everyone,

The GitHub analysis repository was accidently wiped out today and it is recovered now. However, commits uploaded in the past week were lost. If you have git-pushes in the past week, please upload again, e.g. with following commands in your local analysis repository:

git pull origin master; # receive updates from the origin master

git push origin master; # upload your local updates to GitHub

Unlike other GitHub repositories that is guided behind pull requests, the analysis repository is open writable to all collaborators. Its master branch was accidentally overwritten today during tests of a collaborator with a forced git-push. It was recovered within about one hour using a snapshot of the master branch from Feb 9.

New restrictions have been placed on the master branch of the analysis repository in order to protect against similar incidents. It also requires running git pull before git push, in order to have authors resolve conflictions before updates the main repository.

Nevertheless, welcome to contribute your analysis code to the analysis repository. It helps communication and archival of analysis code, also uploaded code becomes part of sPHENIX software reference guide. Let me know if there is any question or suggestion too.

Cheers,

Jin
