Hi folks,
we will soon upgrade the PHENIX part of rcf to SL7. I compiled all our 3rd party software under SL7 and upgraded those packages to the latest versions. Testing with single particle simulations gives almost identical results - the differences are small, in line what I see when running the same SL6 libraries under SL6 and SL7 (the dark art of floating point ops). If you need identical results you need to run the SL6 libs inside a singularity container which we have available.
We have two interactive machines (phnxel71, phnxel72) you can use for your own testing and development. Please give this (and your code) a spin to see if I have forgotten a package or something stopped to work (we have a new fastjet version, a new pythia 8 version, new lhapdf6,...).
Just to give you a heads up - there is a real move towards root6 (e.g. the newest genfit sources require root 6) and we will probably have to migrate in the near future,
Chris
