Hi All,

I need to publish an erratum for my report on tracking upgrades last Tuesday, April 16. I found a typo in my macro that set the pileup rate with the central Au+Au events to 100 Hz - not 100 kHz. So effectively there was almost no event pileup in the simulations I showed results for last Tuesday.

I have revised the slides and re-posted them to the indico page for the meeting:

https://indico.bnl.gov/event/5460/

The changes for central Au+Au with pileup were:

-- The tracking efficiency dropped to ~ 56% from 70 %. Note that the new modular tracking does not have iterative seeding implemented yet, and that is necessary for good efficiency in high occupancy. Christof is planning to re-implement that now that the reorganization is merged. Also, there seems to be an issue with the new Genfit version (that came with ROOT 6) that causes about 5% of apparently good tracks to not converge during final fitting. Could be just tuning.

-- The job resident memory size rose to the range 3.5 - 6 GB.

-- The jobs run for 2.5 - 10 hours. Average is about 5 hours, but with a large spread due to pileup statistics.

Sorry about that
Tony

Subject: [Sphenix-software-l] [reminder] sPHENIX simulation and software meeting on Apr 16, 1PM EST @ 2-219

Hello everyone,

This is a reminder that we will have a sPHENIX simulation and software meeting on Apr 16, 1PM EST @ 2-219

As you may see on the GitHub pull requests, many work has been done by Tony and Chris integrating the new tracking containers into the default software. Tony will lead a discuss on tracking changes in this meeting. Further contributions will be welcomed too.

The agenda page is at https://indico.bnl.gov/event/5460/
