Hi folks,

I switched the default of our libraries to the newest root version (6.18 
from 6.16). This version has a bugfix for the i/o of stl maps which 
reduces the memory consumption a bit. Also our 3rd party packages are on 
the latest and greatest (and pythia8 does not crash anymore). I didn't 
see any changes compared to the old root version and the old 3rd party 
packages.

The previous root version is available as "old" (source 
/opt/sphenix/core/bin/sphenix_setup.csh -n old) if you want to run 
comparisons yourself.

There is an error message about a missing streamer for 
pair<int,Uint64_t> but it doesn't seem to have any negative effect.
