Hi folks,
let me send this out here rather than sending it to the usual crowd and forgetting someone.
The plan is to run high stats simulations ahead of time but also sims for tutorials (there is no educational value in staring at the screen for 45 minutes to see one hijing event). We will have to move to a newer geant version and the plan is to run this with version 10.06 which came out in December. According to ALICE the INCLXX physics list works best for the TPC, and according to G4 FTFP with high precision neutron physics is best for our calorimeters, so the default physics list is FTFP_INCLXX_HP.
By defaultĀ the G4Hits are stored (including absorbers)
All output goes to /sphenix/data/data03/sphnxpro/sim
So far we have 10000 0-6.6 fm Hijing events (with G4 10.05.p02, G4 10.06 coming) and 1mio single 4GeV pi- events for various physics lists and G4 versions for evaluation.
If you need something - please provide a macro which does what you want (so I don't have to figure out what switches are needed to accomplish what you want and look where input hepmc files are located). I do have the standard G4_<subsystem>.C and the G4Setup_sPHENIX macros.
Please send this in early - sims are cpu heavy and we do not have unlimited instantaneous resources to run them.
Chris
