Hi folks,

this is just a heads up - I've been testing root 6.20 and the results 
seem mostly identical so far (negligible last digit diffs in the dca of 
the  tracking). In initial tests it uses 10% less memory for saving stl 
maps which all our objects use and we can write and read back hepmc 
records (readback was the problem with root 6.18). If I don't find any 
show stoppers I would like to change our default root version to 6.20 in 
the next couple of days. We have a "test" build where the only 
difference is the new root version (and - okay - a newer gsl version) if 
you want to run your own checks. To set this up use for csh

source /opt/sphenix/core/bin/sphenix_setup.csh -n test

for bash:

source /opt/sphenix/core/bin/sphenix_setup.sh -n test

I'll send a notice when we'll move. At this time the current version 
will be available under "old"
