Hi folks,
I promised to create a repo for the mdc1 and finally made good on that promise.
The idea is to use this for the macros and submission scripts and whatever else we use specifically to MDC1. It is clear that we will move on from there and this way we can keep it nicely boxed up without adding stale branches to our main repos.
I copied the sPHENIX Fun4All macros over (same location macros/detectors/sPHENIX) for starters. I foresee that we will split this into at least two pieces - one for creating the hijing hits files, the other for running the reconstruction based on those hits files. Probably a third one for user analysis which reads the production output. One could leave this in one macro but having two or three will make them simpler and more obvious what they actually accomplish (way fewer settings one has to watch out for). These macros will continue to use the subsystem macros we keep in our main repo, only if we have to create special mods for those we'll keep them locally.
The repo is git AT github.com:sPHENIX-Collaboration/MDC1 and it follows the new github default. The previous master branch is now called "main". I guess at some point we will have to rename the master branch in our other repos (but given our life expectancy I'd rather do that than keep renaming the main branch to master for the next 10 years).
Chris
