Hi Chris and all,

Given that I will likely not attend next week’s Sims meeting, I just wanted to give a one-slide update on the two issues we uncovered a week and a half ago: the distribution of times for out of time pileup events, and the de-synchronization which led to a “shear” between the events in different DSTs.

In the latest production, both of these appear to be fixed!

Hi Dennis,

Glad to hear. Thank's a lot for the quick check !

Hi folks,

we have now a script which can produce file lists for use in your
analysis macros for the input manager instead of fileopen(<file>), use
in->AddListFile(<ascii file>):

CreateFileList.pl

It takes one of more of our filetypes as argument and only adds files
which exist in all requested variants, so you don't have to go through
our production areas and figure out which files match (the calo clusters
are available quickly after the pileup, the tracks take at least 48
hours longer).
Without parameters it prints out a brief usage info:
usage: CreateFileLists.pl -fm <fermi range> <filetypes>
parameters:
-fm : fermi range, 0-12 = 1, 0-4.88 = 2
-n : <number of events>
-s : <starting segment>

available types:
DST_BBC_G4HIT
DST_CALO_CLUSTER
DST_CALO_G4HIT
DST_TRACKS
DST_TRKR_G4HIT
DST_TRUTH_G4HIT
DST_VERTEX
G4Hits

And there is a short blurb in our wiki:
https://wiki.bnl.gov/sPHENIX/index.php/MDC1_2021#Samples The list files are those names in lower case.list. It deletes existing
lists as the first step, if you want to preserve them, you need to move
them somewhere else (the alternative is to leave the files and end up
with accidental mismatches when using lists from previous running of the
macro). For the 0-4.88 fm we have only G4Hits files so far.

New files will show up as soon as they are available, so you will
probably get changing lists (containing more and more events) on a daily
basis. But you can always reuse old lists as long as we don't have to
reprocess.

Chris
