Hi folks,

this is a heads up for one of the things we need to sort out in the next software meeting. We want to update our computing plan with the current numbers (also taking the mdc experience into account). As I pointed out on Friday we need to see if our simulations needs are still on target of if we want to revise them. We had estimates from each topical group.

The other number we need to firm up is the expected volume for pp/pAu. The numbers I presented were based on a zero deg crossing angle where we run at a collision rate of 13MHz. With the intended crossing angle this goes down to 4MHz but this also affects the number of events we can get by extending the readout to 20us. We can compensate for this by extending the readout time even further. The technical details are not terribly important - but what we need is a data volume estimate.

You can find the current computing plan under

Thanks
Chris
