Hello everybody,
this is a reminder that we will have a regular sPHENIX simulation and software meeting tomorrow Jan 11th, 1PM ET
The Agenda for this meeting is: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/14124/
sPHENIX members should have write access, the access key is babar1008
I want to use this meeting to get a bit better organized and follow up with calls for help and keep track of time lines. I added calibration (Takao and Christof) and TG updates (all TG conveners) which will become standing entries from now. Just like the software updates they should be a brief summary of what's going on (but feel free to elaborate).
For the calibrations we did set an end of the month deadline at which we want to add them to the mdc2, how are we doing with this?
From the TGs we need input for the simulation production priorities. As said at the collaboration meeting we have basically one shot at running all we need. Now we need to know what we need and have to settle on the order in which this should be produced. We also need to know what part of the truth info is needed for analysis. The current very detailed truth information is just too large to keep around for all simulations.
A quick report how the G4 implementation of the hcals is doing is next (we keep this until it is done).
Last not least we need to make progress with our collaboration tools. They are a copy of the STAR tools, collaborators with a STAR background will have an easier time getting this to work. It is important but this area will stay dormant if we cannot find volunteers to take this on.
Just to announce it here as well - under Tim and Ejiro's leadership we'll try to get a virtual help desk up and running. It starts right after the software meeting (or 2:30 whatever is earlier):

I know that starting in sPHENIX software is not for the faint of heart and it is confusing when you see our macros for the first time. I hope that virtual helpdesk will help to get you going quicker, you are supposed to work on real and interesting problems - not struggle with technicalities (like a 100 page gibberish dump from root or the compiler just because a ; is missing somewhere).
I linked our subsystem status spreadsheet:

Please update the subsystem status where appropriate and mention it in the meeting.
