Dear Genk i,

this is not a problem caused this directory or by its files. Sorry if my mail made the impression. In the meantime I saw that the inaccessible file on our home disk is softlinked from lustre, so it is a lustre issue after all. My feeling  tells me it is related to yesterdays emergency maintenance.

I backed this directory completely up into hpss and was about the delete those files, this is when I noticed (also that a lot more files are affected than I initially though).

If any of those files are needed - we can get stage the tar file back from hpss.

Chris

Dear Chris,
I can see the same errors at lots of locations, for example,/sphenix/tg/tg01/commissioning/pinkenbu/51616_1023. It's hard to conclude that lots of files in /sphenix/tg/tg01/commissioning/INTT/from_INTTDAQ are the cause of the problem as you guessed. We will discuss the lots of files in the INTT meeting this week.
Best, Genki

Hi folks,

it looks like we have some gremlins in our storage. If you do an ls you
get this weird message, a fun one is

ls /sphenix/tg/tg01/commissioning/INTT/from_INTTDAQ

resulting in tons of
ls: cannot access
/sphenix/tg/tg01/commissioning/INTT/from_INTTDAQ/calib_packv4_021523_1233_ch_module2.root:
Cannot send after transport endpoint shutdown

if you try to open the file you get a file not found error. This is also
seen for files in our home directory (/sphenix/u), so it's (very likely)
not a lustre issue related to the server maintenance yesterday. I filed
a ticket

Chris

P.S. Before anybody panics, since these files were in the raw data
category - I tarred up the above files and archived the tarball in hpss,
so those particular files are safe, no matter what.
