Dear all,

Below you can find the sPHENIX tpc software meeting minutes which is also available on the agenda page.

sPHENIX TPC software (16 Feb 2017)

Revisiting the charge cloud formulation in TPC Geant4. Based on discussion amongst the TPC group during October it became clear that one doesn't need to use the effective number of electrons within charge cloud formulation as the formulation of charge cloud provides us it's spatial extension rather than the undertainty in the position of measurement. Bit of details are explained in the slides of Sourav.
Carlos presented effect of gas factor change on clusterizer. Charge cloud size vs drift length in TPC distribution looks what is expected. This leads to the information response of   TPC readout pads. The distribution of mean number of electrons per cell on slide #4 it seems reasonable after doing an online check on mean electrons vs layer number profile histogram. As expected the mean number of electrons showed larger electron density in innermost module as compared to the outermost module. Suggestion is to use pure pions event to get rid of statistical fluctuation and to get more clear picture as compared to just picking up low statistics Hijing tracks.
Future plan is to implement digitizer but after sorting out the issue of TPC clusterizer.

Thanks,
Sourav
