Here's a quick update regarding the magnet test:

 

Mike Anerella, Joe Muratore, Henry Hocker and others discussed the laser test at their weekly meeting yesterday and agreed that there are no major safety concerns with our apparatus. As a result, they essentially allowed John Cintorino and his immediate supervisor to sign the work permit. John is now in the process of gathering a few more signatures and the permit should be fully approved by Tues. afternoon (Monday is a BNL holiday). The good news is the cooling leak was repaired and John was able to successfully ramp the magnet to 1.5T (without the laser) and establish the 5G safety line around the magnet. Barring any further issues, we should be able to finally test both the laser and the TPC FEE card in a 1.5T field by Tuesday afternoon.
