Hello All,

Let's meet MONDAY 03.24 at 9:30 AM ET (3:30 PM CET) to discuss ongoing operations/analysis/planning for the TPC. In particular:

  • HV: We should discuss Yeonju and Luke's latest results from last week's gain scan if we have not already. We should specifically call to @Thomas K Hemmick's attention N 11 R1 and N 12 R1 which I think are still not properly balanced. We should discuss the weather correction which is still the last major "before cool down" milestone the TPC HV has not accomplished. Finally, we should discuss plan's ahead for the cool down. Shall we resume nightly cosmics data taking ? When can we expect to do the gain balancing with the B field and AuAu collisions (recall @Thomas K Hemmick elected to forgo using cosmics w/ B field as that brief time will be dedicated to line laser data).

  • LV/FEEs: We should discuss any plans to continue the upgrade of FEE firmware. When can we expect to have digital currents and what should we do to prepare? What is the status from the tests performed over the weekend ? Also, @Sakaguchi, Takao produced the latest FEE x FEE deadmap. Should we also prepare the "wandering pedestal/stuck on stupid" map ?

  • DAQ: @Huang, Jin has been watching the TPC over the weekend including a reboot of EBDC16. There were also some misbehaviors in the DAQ/DMA buffers. We should discuss anything we need to do here, especially ahead of collisions sometime later in the week.

  • Line Laser: @Seth Howell, @Thomas K Hemmick, and @Azmoun, Bob have again been hard at work on the line laser, all throughout last week and the weekend, including full alignment in 3S. We can discuss further steps including finishing alignment in all lasers and threading the lasers into the TPC (which @Ross Corliss should be kept aware of). When we get to testing the laser DAQ, we may need help from @Martin Purschke and @Huang, Jin. WE SHOULD MAKE SURE THAT WHEN WE TAKE LINE LASER DATA, WE HAVE THE GL1 FULLY FUNCTIONAL (it was not during last year's data taking).
  • Diffuse Laser: Once the gains have been declared balanced by @Thomas K Hemmick, we should resurrect the diffuse laser and include it in the nightly data taking. As we do this, we should also take a TPC only run in global mode (BP w/ GL1) based on clock triggers with the diffuse laser firing and send that to @Kimelman, Benjaminfor analysis. Its possible we may make another scan over intensity and work with @Azmoun, Bob to produce new response curves.

  • Contingency Box: @Mandracchia, Kevinhas begun to look into the connector-izing of the boxes. We pointed him to the solder sleeves - did he get them? We can discuss this with him. We should also make sure we take advantage of @shana Prifte offer to help.
  • Analysis: Any additional analysis from @Luke Legnosky/ @Yeonju Go/ @josborn1 AT bnl.gov ?
  • Any other pressing business
