Hi Achim

I merely showed a plot that stated that the field *lines* were quite friendly to a TPC (for which they should not enter/exit the radial boundaries) and people hoped that maybe it was even uniform enough that mapping might not be necessary (not my conclusion, but I think Phil Pile and Yousef tossed this possibility around).  Thanks for adding more quantitative info to the discussion.

Hi,

yesterday during the dress rehearsal Tom showed a plot of the central magnetic field where the tracker is located and the argument was that the field is rather stable there and a detailed mapping may not be necessary. I took one of the sPHENIX 2D maps and plotted the deviation from the field at 0/0 which is Bz only. The deviations are less that 4% and mainly < 1%. Br is very low in that region.
