Hi Itaru and Tony,
I have been busy with my LDRD review, new LDRD preparation and other planing things this week, didn’t get a time to follow much on INTT progress,  but I will try to dial in for the Friday discussions if possible (~7AM is always my busy time at home).
Cheers,
Ming

Hi Tony and Ming,

We would like to hear from Ming about the update of MAPS readout design. I will present in my presentation on Friday though, the single side readout is not an option for INTT. I'll convince you in the meeting. Thus we need to hear update from LANL engineering side.

Regards,
-itaru

Hi All,

We will have an sPHENIX tracking meeting on Friday October 21 at 9:00 am ET. The agenda page is:

https://indico.bnl.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2476

We will hear from Sook Hyun Lee about an update to the vertex treatment on the TPC Hough code.

It would be good also to have:

1) An update on the intermediate tracker geometry

2) A discussion about the feasibility of running the TPC so that we can get dE/dx information for particle ID. This is motivated by the likelihood that the LHC experiments will (by Run 3) be able to measure the separated c and b open heavy flavor down to zero pT. There is a developing consensus among heavy flavor experts that the open heavy flavor cross section in the same rapidity range is the best reference for quarkonia measurements, because it already has built in the (quite theoretically uncertain) shadowing and energy loss effects. It is something we should be considering in sPHENIX.

Cheers

Tony
