Hi, Cesar,

Thank you for submitting the nice MAPS b-jet poster. Few comments for your consideration:

1.       Parton Interaction with QGP:

a.       The right top figure, b-quark interaction through the medium looks like the gluon interaction on the bottom, i.e. radiated a gluon as pass through medium. Maybe we can shorten the gluon line below b-quark or remove it.

b.      “light quarks and jets lose energy in QGP mainly through gluon radiation”
-> “light quarks lose energy in QGP mainly through gluon radiation”

c.       “b-quarks also lose energy in elastic collisions....”
-> “b-quarks also experience a significant fraction of energy loss via elastic collisions...”

2.       b-jets at LHC

a.       “Same suppression as in inclusive jets”
It sounds strong given the large uncertainty as quoted on the plot. Suggest use phrase like consistent within uncertainty

b.      “they cross the QGP as a massive gluon in an octet state, similar to a gluon jet”:
When the b_bbar from gluon splitting traverse through QGP, they interact coherently in a color-octet state with twice b-quark mass. They behave very different from gluon jets at lower pT when mass effect become important, even more dramatic than b-jet. Suggest remove “similar to a gluon jet”.

3.       b-jets at RHIC measured by sPHENIX

a.       “Expected b-jet yields.in sPHENIX”
-> “Expected b-jet R_AA uncertainty in sPHENIX”

b.      “Trigger only on Minium Bias in Au+Au collisions”
-> “Record all Minimum Au+Au collisions in acceptance”

4.       Detector Performance

a.       Suggest add simulation condition to the efficiency and DCA plots: 100 pions embedded in 0-10% Au+Au collisions.

Enjoy Chicago in pre-QM meetings and see you soon.

Cheers,

Jin

Dear collaborators,

I finally posted my poster in indico

Comments are welcome, specially the ones aiming the coordination of the message among the b-jets and MAPS posters.
