Dear All,

I'm planning to submit the following poster abstract. I posted
in the dropbox file that Gunther sent as well.

Title: Readout electronics for the sPHENIX Time projection chamber
Presenter: Takao Sakaguchi, BNL
Abstract:
The sPHENIX is the upgrade project of the PHENIX detector and is
currently planned to start its engineering run in 2022. This upgrade
project mainly focuses on the detailed measurement of jets and Upsilons.

We have proposed to build a time projection chamber (TPC) as the main
tracker for the sPHENIX, which has a radial coverage of 30 cm to 78cm
with rapidity coverage of |y|<1.1 and full azimuth. The number of readout
channels will be 154K, and the raw data volume is expected to reach as
much as ~880Gbps. In order to fully exploit the data, we developed a
new readout electronics. The front end part is designed using SAMPA
chips developed for ALICE experiment, and the back end part employs
ATLAS FELIX card and high speed PCs. The readout system can be
operated in continuous readout mode at integration rate of ~100KHz.

In this presentation, we will present the design of the each readout
electronics component as well as the performance obtained from
the prototype front and back end electronics.
