Hi,
These are mu-, with total momentum uniformly distributed between 5 GeV and 20 GeV. The chosen range is pretty arbitrary, as this was more of a "toy-model test" of cosmics reconstruction than an actual realistic look. The
muons also all originate from a single point, 400 cm below the origin, rather than the actual sensing area of the cosmics trigger paddles.
If we want to do this more realistically, we should 1) use the CosmicSpray generator to get a realistic cosmics momentum distribution, and 2) require that
the muons intersect the two cosmics trigger paddles (which, according to John Haggerty, are 16x140 cm paddles at zero rapidity, 300ish and 375ish cm below the origin, with the long side extending in the x direction).
There will likely be a cosmics tracking chain available in macros by Monday, so if I don't get to it in time, this will be doable by anyone who is interested soon.
Thanks,
Michael Peters

Hello,
That looks nice.
I have a few questions
What are the species of the particles?
What was the energy of those particles?
What was the energy of those particles?
Some of those are bending, probably for the alignment purpose the best would be very high-energy muons.
______
Cheers,
Evgeny

Subject: [Sphenix-tracking-l] Cosmics "X-Ray" PlotThis plots all of the clusters that were part of a reconstructed cosmic track, for roughly 2000 cosmic tracks, used as part of diagnostics for the silicon association module for cosmics during the workfest:
The "slice" you're seeing is a cone of mu- that was designed to be guaranteed to hit the silicon detectors, coming from 400 cm below the origin.
