Hi Adeeb,
Here are some comments from me in addition to those from Dennis.
I would suggest putting slides 12-13 prior to slide 11. Slide 11 is really a track based plot as it is the integrated dE/dx over the track, so I think this would flow better if we discuss the track reconstruction first and then discuss the outcome of the track
reconstruction.
Slide 12 - "Indicative of an operational TPC" -> "Indicative of full MIP efficiency of TPC"
Slide 13 - Although the CKF is the "golden" algorithm in Acts, we don't use it as we have found CKFs are really complicated in AuAu occupancies. Instead we use the plain old Kalman Filter which assumes you have already associated the clusters to a track. Instead
of this picture I would suggest using the KF picture from the Acts docs or the very first "generic" picture which just shows what seeding, track finding, and track fitting are.
Slide 14 - "reflects solid TPC performance" -> "reflects uniform TPC performance"
Slide 17/18 - "Low residuals" -> "Small residuals"
"No calibrations or distortion corrections" -> "No alignment calibrations or distortion corrections"

Hi Adeeb,
Thanks for the draft. For the Invenio record, I think you should make it a “request” so people can post comments, rather than an open record. I have a few comments, and hopefully the tracking group can make more on the substance.
Do you have a firm date for an upcoming tracking meeting where you can walk through these for an official Work in Progress approval?
For the 3-D rendering of sPHENIX, I think the one you have might be one of the older ones. Dave Morrison maintains the latest and greatest ones here: https://bnlbox.sdcc.bnl.gov/index.php/s/tDHkYzzETHfaLJE -
you could see if you think there is a better-looking replacement.
For slides 11, 14, 17-20: I think these are the proposed “Work in Progress” plots, right? If so, please do not mark anything as “Preliminary” that has not been publicly approved yet!
Slide 11: is it possible to use coarser binning to see more of the distribution? It looks very dilute. And does q*p have units?
Slide 14: Is it important to list the vertex range of the events here?
Slide 15: I think we really want to see this before approving it.
For slides 17-20, there is a faint white 1-D histogram over the colz plots — is that the average y-value as a function of x? I would make it bolder and possibly a different color. Is it useful to quantify the RMS as well as just the mean?
Have fun at DNP,
Dennis

Hi everyone,
I hope you're doing well. Attached is a link to the first draft of my DNP slides on general tracking performance. I want to preface by saying that there is still work to be done on my presentation, such as following the sPHENIX plot style and developing my discussion of the plots. I'd appreciate any feedback!
Thank you!
