Thank you very much for your email.
I partially agree with you. One can identified net-Q = net-p + net-k + net-pi and then do σ_{Q,p} = σ_{pi,p} + σ_{k,p} + σ^{p} (similar for \sigma_{Q,k}). Then we need to call it identified-Q,p off-diagonal. Then there will be always debate if we can call it net-Q or not as we know there are a lot more charge tracks that we can not be identified with good purity. So we are uncomfortable to call it Q-p, Q-k off-diagonal.
As I mention during my presentation that we are planning to report σ_{pi,k}, σ_{pi,p} with good purity along with the existing σ_{k,p}, and the variance results. Then one can always construct identified-Q,p (or Q-k) off-diagonal with those results.

as the sum of clearly/purely identified charged pions, kaons and p and pbar,
like what Tetsuro has been doing some year’s ago, (in stead of loosely defined
just by TPC tracks), then would the correction become well defined for the
off-diagonal correlation between net-Q and net-p/net-k?
