STAR Correlations and Fluctuations PWG

Dear CF Colleagues, 

As you heard just a few minutes ago, we would like to encourage you to submit an abstract for the APS meeting. 

There will be BES-II symposium and mini-symposiums.

Please find more details in Rongrong’s email. Please note that the deadline is tomorrow.

If you have given DNP 2020 talk, you can submit the same abstract (they will be accepted very quickly).

If you would like to submit a new abstract, please do it as soon as possible.

In addition to the BES-II symposium that Helen mentioned, there are also other Mini-Symposiums relevant for us:

D17b Mini-Symposium: Challenges for The Hydrodynamic Description of RHIC Data from All Kinds of Correlations

D17c Mini-Symposium: Heavy Flavor and Quarkonia as a Probe of QCD Media, Current and Future

D17d Mini-Symposium: Spin Physics and Hard Scattering Processes

D17f Mini-Symposium: Transverse-Momentum-Dependent Phenomena

D17g Mini-Symposium: Photo-Production of Hadrons

Please do encourage your PWG members to submit an abstract. It is fine if the abstract is the same as the DNP one. The deadline is tomorrow (Jan. 8th). The contributed abstract length is less than 1,300 characters.

Happy New Year!

We are writing to encourage you to encourage your group and PWG members to submit abstracts for the upcoming APS meeting. In particular the GHP has organized a min=symposium:

E09. Mini-Symposium: Results from RHIC Beam Energy Scan II

So far we have only seen 1 abstract that will go to this session. It would be bad for STAR and the field if this symposium needs to be canceled due to lack of contributions. I realize that the is not the best timing, much of the data remains to be produced due to calibration issues and other results are waiting for final embedding, but the APS meetings are still good places for students to give presentations about their plans and there are some results ready.

In addition the GHP has seven sorting categories that are of relevance to the RHIC  program

E01. Hadronic Physics: General
E02. Light Mesons and Baryons
E03. Heavy Flavor Hadrons
E04. Hadron Spectroscopy and Exotics
E05. Nucleon Structure and Nucleon Spin
E06. QCD and Short Range Effects in Nuclei
E07. Partonic Structure of Nuclei
