Dear Chuan,

Thank you very much for clarification.
I think that we should be consistent. If these results will not go to QM proceedings, they should not be shown at other conferences.
I think you have enough material to prepare the presentation for ISMD but it is of course your decision if you would like to present there or not.

Thanks,
Hanna

Dear Hanna,
I know we only have one preliminary results and there is indeed no reason to run the new result.
The old results are from global tracks (should be primary tracks), and lose the track-merging cut and momentum-smearing correction compared to the latest studies.
We discussed it today and decide to give up this ISDM presentation since the time is a bit tight
considering many other things need to be done for me.

I will contact the meeting organizer later.

Thanks,
Chuan

Dear Chuan,

Thank you for all your links.
Before I answer, may I ask what is the motivation that you run a new analysis which results you would like to use to replace the old one?

I remember your presentation from CF PWG group, however I understand you ran new analysis for new cuts but the old setting would work as well now if you would run the analysis again? Correct me if I am wrong.. If there is any other reason you obtained new results?
Any bug in your code?

Thanks,
Hanna

Dear Hanna,
Thank you for your detailed reply and I will comply with our rules.
Please find the following information about our latest two discussions in CF PWG meeting :
<08AEC8B3 AT 114E6A5D.7F82E062.png>

<0F646AE6 AT 3086DD21.7F82E062.png>

If possible, can I show the data points (slide 11,  https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/ppCF_sys_PWG_Chuan_2022_0414.pdf) ?
I think it will not confused people because this data points and previous preliminary results were measured from different pT range.

Thanks,
Chuan

Dear Chuan,

According to our policy, if one finds a bug in the code or if the preliminary results change, then the preliminary results should not be shown any longer. New results can be shown when the paper is published. Regarding your ISMD talk, the best would be if you prepare a general presentation related to your work but without your „expired” preliminary results.

Can you remind me if (and if so, when) did you discuss new results within CF PWG?

Thanks,
Hanna

Dear Hanna,
I wonder if I can show the p-p CF preliminary results in ISMD meeting and ISMD proceeding.
Please kindly let me know.
If not, I will Withdraw my ISMD presentation.
Thanks,

Dear Nu, Ke and All,

Yes, I I agree with Nu. If STAR has new results being prepared for the paper that differ from the cones, they should not be shown any longer. I understand that it is the case of p-p and p-xi. So please modify your proceedings removing not valid any longer results.

Thanks,
Hanna

Hi Ke and All,

Thank you for the updated proceedings.

I have the following suggestions for consideration:
1) Remove Fig. 2 where p-p and p-Xi- correlation functions are shown. This is because these results are obsolete and new results (cannot show here) will replace them in the paper publication;

2) We should add some PID information to demonstrate the quality of the analysis, especially for the new results for p-d and d-d correlation functions.

Hope this is helpful.

Nu

Your further comments and suggestions are welcome.
Thank you.

Dear Ke,

Meantime, please find my comments to your proceedings. Keep in mind I have commented on the version that is current now. When you will work on new draft, please include my comments regarding p-d and d-d system. Having new draft, I will comment more.

Line 1: this proceedings -> these proceedings

Linę 12: it would be nice to just mention which scenarios you consider: thermal production and / or coalescence

Line 21: density[3] -> density [3]

Somewhere in the Results part, close to the discussion, it would be nice mention possible reasons in the correlation strengths between scenarios including / excluding the coalescence mechanism (e.g. for p-d you see a stronger correlations  with DIRECT (no coalescence) scenarios, while in d-d the coalescence scenarios leads to the stronger correlation effect).
Line 92-94: I would be very careful and avoid the statements that: „Those observations imply that at √sNN = 3GeV Au+Au collisions, deuterons are formed via the nucleon coalescence processes” as you don’t discuss any size dependences. You just take pure SMASH data assuming that the source size simply agrees. If you change your source size, you might get different  interpretation. This conclusion should be left for further investigation. Meantime, I suggest to make your conclusion lighter.

Thanks,
Hanna

Hi Ke,

I would focus more on final physics results. For example, I’m not sure if you need Fig. 1 and lines 54-59. If needed, Section 1 and 2 could be combined with some modifications. It may be helpful to make more space if you put Figs. 2 and 3 into one figure, upper and bottom plots, because of the similarity of the figures the captions can be reduced.

Best regards,
Takafumi

Dear Ke and All,

As Takafumi wrote, as your talk was based on merged abstract, the proceedings should also include other's results.
I understand that in case of p-p results that changed after preliminary labels had been granted, old results should not be considered any longer. With p-p @ 3 GeV we should wait until final publication. However, for other results, we appreciate if you include them in  your proceedings.

Thank you,
Best regards,
Hanna

Dear Hanna and Takafumi,

Thank you for the suggestion.

The main reason is due to the page limitation. We presented many of Femtoscopy results at STAR (baryon CF, meson CF, light nuclei CF..), it’s quite hard to include all of them into 6 page.

Beside, for the ks0-ks0 CF, since Diana has presented them at SQM2022 and HYP, we think it might be much better to discuss ks0-ks0 as well as kch-ks0 in a single proceeding. (The time slot may be very close to QM proceeding). That will help to declare this important physics much more clear. For the p-p CF, since the newest results is quiet different from preliminary one and p-p/p-Xi results have been proposed a paper, so here we did not include them.

Since I did not include strangeness, so I changed the title into “Femtoscopy of proton-deuteron and deuteron-deuteron in Au+Au collisions at #sqrt(sNN) = 3 GeV from RHIC-STAR”. The original title is “Femtoscopy of proton, light nuclei and strangeness from STAR”, I’m sorry about no previous notification about this change.

If needed, we are willing to revise the proceedings, both title and contents.

Your further suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Ke

Dear Ke,

May I ask why among of many STAR results presented in your talk you discuss only p-d and d-d correlations?
I understand the page limit up to 6 but your proceeding refers to only some part of your presentation..
You even changed the title of your contribution.. which I don’t understand. Please explain what happened as I am confused.

Hanna

Hi Ke,

   Nice proceedings.
Please find my minor suggestions :

   1. Line 73, proton and neutron production -> particle production
   2. Reference 9, the "sNN=" can be removed.
   3. You may add a reference of BES deuteron production at STAR.

With those implemented, I sign off.

Thank you,

Xiaofeng
