Dear Grigory,

Thank you for your comments.
I can redraw the deta vs. dphi* distributions, the link is https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/track-merging_v2_0.pdf

I just used my PID cuts (without any pair cuts) to plot the distribution.

Track-merging occurs in a narrow phase space, more likely to be in TPC, I think deta and dphi*(dphi) cut can remove the effect.
For merging effect is weak, I think it's because I used TOF in the low momentum (to ensure purity) and K+ yield was too low.

Best regards,
Wensong

Hi Wensong,

Could you please plot the deta vs. dphi* distributions in the range from negative to positive values?
From the plots you show it is hard to see anything. What cuts have been used to construct these
angular correlations?

Another question is why do you think that the track-merging is removed by applying the cut?

Cheers,
Grigory
