Dear star-cf-l AT lists.bnl.gov members,

Toshihiro Nonaka ( tnonaka AT rcf.rhic.bnl.gov ) has commented on a material

Dear Zach,

Please find below for my comments on your nice poster abstract.

Title: Status of the Analyses for the Proton Higher-Order Fluctuations in the

STAR...

L2: Higher-order fluctuations of the net-proton number distributions in
heavy-ion collisions are expected to be sensitive to a QCD critical point.

L4: "These fluctuations are ... collision energy."
Rephrase as follow:
"These fluctuations can be obtained by measuring various order of cumulants,
C_n, of the net-proton multiplicity distributions."

L5-L9: "Proton kurtosis results from... a return to the expected baseline
behaviour"
This can be rephrased as follow:
"The collision energy dependence of net-proton C4/C2 from Beam Energy Scan I
hints a possible enhancement from 19.6 GeV to 7.7 GeV across the baseline,
while the proton C4/C2 value at 3 GeV from the Fixed-Target program (FXT)
returns to the baseline. These results indicate the importance of filling the

gap between 3.0 GeV and 7.7 GeV"

L9:-L11 "The remaining .... complicates these analyses."
This can be rephrased as follow:
"The analyses of the remaining FXT data sets for 3.2, 3.5, 3.9. and 4.5 GeV
are ongoing to fill the gap and to see whether any critical behaviour is
observed, although limited acceptance...these analyses. "

L12: Remove "Data from ... underway"

Best regards,
Toshihiro
