STAR Correlations and Fluctuations PWG

Dear Conveners,

(i)

  *   Analysis Topic: Determining the speed of sound in ultra central collisions at finite baryon density.
  *   Timeline: ongoing analysis (at least for the next two years).

(ii)

  *   We are currently working on 200 GeV data to establish a baseline relative to LHC measurements from ALICE and CMS.
  *   We are studying the speed of sound as a function of acceptance, transverse momentum and centrality for different centrality qualifiers.
  *   We plan on repeating this analysis for multiple energies including fixed-target energies. Lower energies will require a feasibility study regarding the determination of 'ultra-central' multiplicity bins.

(iii)

  *   I plan on attending the meeting remotely.
  *   Presentation title: "Update on measurements of the speed of sound from ultra-central Au+Au @ $\sqrt{s_{NN}} =$ 200 GeV in STAR".

CF-PWG discussion during next STAR Collaboration meeting March 18-22 at BNL:  

Please let us know of the following:

(i) Your analysis topic, timeline, request(s) such as embedding …;

(ii) Your paper status, physics point(s), timeline, …;
(iii) If you plan to attend the meeting in-person or zoom, presentation title

 

We will start to collect these info and preparing for the PWG report at the collaboration meeting.
