Hello Jagbir
For your information: the restoration for Run11 Au+Au PicoDst files are in progress, and should be ready for use in 1-2 weeks to be conservative. You can check the progress here: https://www.star.bnl.gov/public/comp/prod/localdata/priorityDDrestores.html. If this is the only reason that motivates you to withdraw your abstract, you might reconsider, given that Initial Stages conference is more than 3 months away. Thanks.
Best
Rongrong

Au+Au RUN 11 data was deleted and will take some time to restore in the main disk. After the whole data is restored, I can present my results with new updates. So, I withdraw my abstract for Initial Stages 2021.
Thank you,
Regards,

I agree with both Prithwish and Jiangyong. But as I see a message from
Madan attached below at the bottom of this E-mail, there seems to be
some new updates, that we would need to see/understand your new
results
discussed in the PWG for us to approve your abstract, if you like to
promise
anything new since your last QM poster. But if you do not promise, we
could
approve before hand as Prithwish also says. I’m looking for
“your” answer...

Hi, Schinichi :
I assume that Jiangyong asking me and Evan together is to seek
opinions from the CME focus group. I am simply saying that for me I
am
not in a position to say anything on behalf of the CME focus group,
because this particular analysis has not been discussed in the CME
focus group, as far as I know.
How the talks are handled/approved is not our call.
Thanks,

Dear Aihong and Jiangyong
Jagbir has indeed discussed several times before the last QM19 and
has some approved preliminary results already at the time, and later
he has presented once in the PWG (I guess also once in the cme focus
meeting) in this year, therefore I was waiting for the next one from
him,
as I’ve also mentioned in the E-mail this morning.
Best regards, ShinIchi

Hi, Jiangyong :
I cannot make comments without this being discussed in CME focus
group first. As far as I can tell, this has not happened yet. Note
that other CME analyses have been through lengthy and intense
checkings/debates on their sensitivity and applicability, and I
would expect similar level of scrutiny applied on all CME analyses.
Thanks,

Hi, Jagbir,
I would suggest Aihong and Evan to also comment on your abstract. I
only
have a few minor comments
1 mention STAR in the title
2 mention why your measurement is interesting for initial stages,
what
we can learn about the initial state.
3 what is the main results from your study and what we learn in
comparison to traditional gamma correlators?
cheers,
Jiangyong

Dear All,
Thanks a lot for your comments and suggestions. Replies to some
of your
comments are given below:
Prerequisite conditions for CME are i) formation of deconfined
state of
matter and ii) external magnetic field in heavy-ion collision.
Both these
conditions are related to initial stages.
Traditional gamma correlators are calculated for a given
collision centrality
and results are compared with models. Event shaped engineering
results showed
these gamma correlators are elliptic flow dependent. As the CME
signal is
expected to be very small and also background is very large, we
felt that
CME like signal needs to be magified as much as possible by
selecting potential
events which result large CME like signal. So, we developed a
Sliding Dumbbell
Method(SDM) which searches back-to-back event-by-event charge
separation. It is
worth mentioning that in each colision centrality say top 10%
events with
highest back-to-back charge separation gamma correlators increase
by a factor
of 5-10 as compared to their values for a given collision
centrality. It is
possible to select a sample of events giving rise to large CME
like signal.
Follwing changes have been made after the QM2019:
1. Now we have taken into account the correlated background in
calculating
fcme which was not there in QM2019.
This background is calculated by restoring the charges of
particles in
charge reshuffle events and again calculated delta gamma to add
it to
charge reshuffle background which not only killed CME like
correlations
but also correlations present amongst particles.
2. An attempt has been made to further magnify the observed
correlations
considering the correlations in each event amongst particles
inside the
dumbbell only.
3. In SDM, CME like signal is already magnified by a factor of
~5-10
for top 10% events in each centrality.
4. Considering correlations amongst particles inside the dumbbell
only
CME like signal is further magnified by a factor of ~5-8.
5. Further event-by-event charge separation obtained by SMD is
directly
proportional to sqaure root of correlator for top 10% events in
each collision
centrality.
6. SDM is test on AVDF. So, results of AVFD with SDM will also
be presented.
In veiw of above, please let us know your expert decision.
Thanking you,
Madan Aggarwal
