Dear Jagbir
The followings are our E-mail exchanges about a year ago, do you still remember?
I’m still waiting for your full answer. You’ve shown us the resolutions (cos and sin
correlations) between Psi_Db and Psi_Ep angles, which do strongly depend on
the Db_max selection, which is a kind proof of your method that is sensitive to CME,
I’m still trying to see how your Db_asy selection is helping in addition to this.
Thanks again for the update last week and hoping to see your future updates.
Best regards, ShinIchi
PS : What I would like to see is the both top and bottom plots like p6 and p7 in the
slide above, but with superimposing many events after rotating the phi_Db to be zero
at Db_max. Please make them for several Db_max selections. I would guess you are
already applying your Db_asy selection for these events, so I would like to see them
with or without Db_asy selection.

Can you do a few more systematic checks as in the followings (maybe after QM)?
1). Db_max selection 0-10% or 0-30% to compare with the current 0-20% for the mid-central data.
2). |Db_asy| cut to 0.15 or 0.35 to compare with the current 0.25.
3). Db window size to 60 deg or 120 deg to compare with the current 90 deg.
4). In terms of charge re-shuffling, can you make the <cos>, <sin> resolution plots or make the 3 plots
(Db_asy, Db+- and N vs Psi_Db) for the same event, although I prefer to overlay many events after
rotating the events by Psi_Db) before and after re-shuffling?
5). With AMPT data without signal, I would also like to see the same as above 4).
Best regards, ShinIchi

The page 6 and 7 top panels were the plots that I meant as (1) in my last E-mail.
Please expand the vertical axis of the lower panels in the page 6 and 7, so that
we do see the full shape of the Db_asy vs phi, which I meant as (2). In page 5,
you are trying to see the correlation between Db+- and Db_asy values, but what I
would like to see is the angular correlation between Db+- and Db_asy shape, so
the 1D shape comparison between top and bottom panels in page 6 and 7 is very
good. I would also like you to calculate "N vs phi” and/or “Sum{pT} vs phi” for the
same event and to compare with the top and bottom panels in page 6 and 7, where
I expect the v2-like cos(2x) distribution, since we know v2 increases with pT, so
"Sum{pT}” in stead of “N” is just to enhance the v2 effect. I hope to see some
agreement in peak phase in azimuthal angle between these panels, since they
are from the same event, if Psi_DB catches the true plane. I do think we might
already be seeing some coincidence of the azimuthal phase between top and
bottom panels in page 6 and 7, but please expand the vertical scale of the lower
panel, so that we can see the full shape of Db_asy vs phi, in addition to the v2 shape
from the event plane with the two additional figures I mentioned above. If possoble,
I would like to see several different event examples, not just one event for one
centrality bin.
I’ve asked you to show the <cos, sin> values, so thank you very much for the page
13 and the observed trend is something we could expect, right? In order to fully
understand the correlation, could you please also show me the correlation between
angles Psi_DB and Psi_EP, which is just the 2-D angular correlation "Psi_DB vs Psi_EP”
for several different centrality and/or Db+-max selections (with/without including |Db_asy|
cuts)? Do we see a kind of auto-correlation between Psi_DB and Psi_EP?, so will you
also be able to define Psi_DB and Psi_EP from the two different independent eta regions,
for example, one at negative eta and another one at positive eta with some eta-gap cuts
etc, like what we usually do the flow/correlation analysis with 2 sub-events. Thank you
very much for your interesting studies and sorry for asking more and more questions
and requests. I hope you also agree to see these plots. Thanks again.
Best regards, ShinIchiDear Jagbir
Thanks for the interesting analysis and results. I would like to see the followings.
1) event-by-event Db+- distribution as a function of phi, which you use to get Db+-max value in each event
2) event-by-event Db_asy distribution as a function of phi, and its relation to the Db+-max value, and/or
Db+-max distribution with different |Db_asy| selection
3) Db+-max value is determined in each event, which has a specific phi direction (the largest charge
asymmetry axis direction), let’s call as Psi_Db, that we hope this to be perpendicular to the reaction
plane, if this is sensitive to the CME, so we would like to see the direct correlation with the reconstructed
event plane Psi_EP possibly with various cuts on Db+-max and/or Db_asy selections, for example;
<cos(2*(Psi_Db-Psi_EP-pi/2))> and its <sin()> etc as a function of centrality and as a function of
Db+-max value etc.
Best regards, ShinIchi
