Thanks a lot for the suggestions. We'll see what we can do. Please note that d+Au and p+Au data are from a different energy (200 GeV). We're studying Au+Au 54 GeV data which is more like 2(\gamma)+27(Au) collisions.

Best,

My suggested checks for your interesting analysis

1) hadronic event generator HIJING/uRQMD and look at the Gap
distribution with and with out your cut in ZDC and BBC

This will allow to look at the background contamination

2) RUN Pythia gamma-p and DPMjet gamma-A collisions and see how they
survives3)  your analysis cut and any possible biases on your distributions

3) produce similar distribution for dAu for which the gamma-Au
cross-section should be much smaller (almost negliable), check what
kinds of distribution you get after applying your cut

4) compare your v2 signal with pAu and dAu from shengli. (ATLAS results
show that the v2 for gamma-A is much smaller than pPb).
