Dear Prabhupada
If you like to maximize the event-plane resolution, you could just use full
TPC region
including iTPC region for your 2nd order Q-vector and do your
phi-reconstruction analysis
with excluding the two tracks from the Q-vector for pair-by-pair, just to
exclude the trivial
auto-correlation, where you might worry about small (or zero) eta-gap between
POI and
EP, that can only matter if the statistical accuracy of the measurement is
very good that
you do not have at the moment. One could even combine EP from full 2nd order
TPC plane
and full 1st order EPD plane, that Prithwish mentioned below, using the
relative weighting
factor between TPC and EPD based on the measured resolution in order to
improve further
more. It’s good to go step by step with individual planes as you do now, but
at the end
the resolution indeed matters to get the best statistically significant
result, especially
for such measurement with rare species.
Best regards, ShinIchi
