Hi Fuqiang,

It probably only means that the distribution, dn/dphi is very peaked (narrow) around the RP.  For such a shape one need more harmonics to describe it. Harmonic coefficients no longer can be "independent" -- if this is what you mean by "not physical".

Thanks for the links. When v1>0.5, what does it mean physically? I understand mathematically it’s possible as one only requires the net effect of all harmonics be positive. But does it mean the decomposition into Fourier components isn’t physical?
