Dear convenors,
We plan to submit an abstract on measurements of K*0 at BES-II. Please find our intended abstract below:
title: Probing hadronic rescattering via $K^{*0}$ resonance production at RHIC
Abstract:
The relativistic heavy-ion collisions provide a unique opportunity to study the properties of QCD matter at various temperatures and densities. Due to their short lifetime resonances (like $K^{*0}$) are excellent probes for the medium created in heavy-ion collisions. Because of a short lifetime ($\sim$4 fm/c), $K^{*0}$ mesons decay inside fireball and their decay daughters are exposed to the in-medium effects like rescattering and regeneration. Therefore, properties of $K^{*0}$ can be modified by these interactions. On the other hand, because of a long lifetime ($\sim$ 42 fm/c), the $\phi$ mesons will mostly decay outside of the fireball and therefore their daughters will not have much time to rescatter in the hadronic phase. Hence simultaneous measurement of $K^{*0}$ and it's comparision with $\phi$ meson will help us to understand the effect of hadronic rescattering on the short-lived resonances.
In this talk we will provide the measurement of $K^{*0}$ at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 14.6 and 19.6 GeV using high statistics STAR BES-II data. Resonance to non-resonance particle ratios ($\phi/K$ and $K^{*0}/K$ ) will be shown as a function of centrality for various beam energies. Rapidity dependence of $K^{*0}$ production will be discussed. The elliptic flow measurement of $K^{*0}$ at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 7.7-19.6 GeV will be presented.
Thanks and Regards
Aswini
